Christine and Josh

Saturday September 29, 2012

The theme of the day was the ladybug....known to symbolize love and luck.  It definitely worked because the weather was a beautiful 26 degrees, the city was decorated with vibrant shades of autumn colours...a perfect day to celebrate the love between two people...the wedding of Christine and Josh.
I met Christine, her bridesmaids, mother and aunt at the Viscount Gort Hotel at 10:00am.  To my surprise I was greeted by the bride herself who was ready...all she had to do was step into her dress.  I was so excited as it was a gorgeous day and I had a gorgeous bride to work with.

Both Darlene and I gasped as we saw Christine's wedding dress.  The deep red feature was bold and  strong and added amazing contrast to the images.

We began her session by photographing in the lobby of  the hotel and then made our way to a nearby park where we were joined by her bridesmaids.  Christine glowed in the sunlight as she twirled in her wedding dress. She looked stunning!  As we walked along the fallen leaves Christine looked down at her arm and noticed a ladybug crawling along her hand...it was definitely her day to be a bride.

Christine's gals were so much fun to work with.  Throughout our session they exchanged giggles, motherhood tips, but most of all they all shared a love for Christine.  Each one of them met Christine at different times of her life and it was so great to see them all being silly...a typical bunch of girls having fun.  I loved it.

I met Josh, along with his groomsmen and parents at 1:00pm in Assiniboine Park.  Josh and his guys looked awesome in their suits with their feather boutonnieres.  I had such a great time working with this bunch as we took a stroll through the "forest", posed for photos and I laughed as I watched them do their jumping photo which was requested by the audience.

Christine and Josh were married in a quiet ceremony held at the beautiful, Patricia's Banquet Hall at 3:00pm.  This ceremony was very special as it was performed by Josh's dad who did a wonderful job providing tradition, humour, love, and fun.
We heading back to Assiniboine Park for the formal photos of the couple, the bridal party and family.

Thank you to all of the family and friends who made this day so wonderful for Christine and Josh.  I had a great time meeting you all.

The wedding party was a great group of friends...consisting of siblings, old friends, new friends, and a few very tall men!  Good thing for ladders.  All of you were fantastic, thank you.

Thank you to Christine and Josh.  You both share such a beautiful chemistry and you were both awesome to spend the day with.  I love your sweet personalities and your willingness to go anywhere with me for a photograph.  My favourite part of the day was watching Josh videotape his own wedding day...but the best part was when he turned the camera on Christine and he smiled his fantastic smile...she looked amazing!

We ended our evening back at the reception venue (Patricia's) where the room was decorated in red and black and even the cake was sprinkled with ladybugs.

I wish you both lots of luck, lots of love, and lots of ladybugs....only the ones that don't bite!  Christine I never knew that was even possible!

Best wishes to you both!

My Favourite Photo!
