Elizabeth and Peter

Sunday November 2, 2014

What a beautiful November morning, the perfect day for my last wedding of the season.  Today's theme is "City meets Country" which is so cute for Elizabeth and Peter.  The city gal falls in love with the country boy!
Peter and Elizabeth decided to do a "First Look" before the wedding ceremony at her brother's beautiful home.  Peter looked AWESOME in his trademark cowboy hat.  Jill and I had so much fun capturing his western flare.

Elizabeth looked simply beautiful in her wedding gown from her elegant jewellery to the white cape she wore to keep warm during the day.

We headed to the amazing Gobert Farm to photograph the couple along with their wedding party.

Thank you to the Gobert Family for giving us permission to capture such wonderful images in your home.  I can't believe how lucky we are to have such a treasure and a piece of farming history so close to home.

It was the perfect place to photograph the theme of "city meets country."  I want to say a huge THANK YOU to my couple, Elizabeth and Peter, along with their wedding party for being so much fun to work with and battling the chills.  I know it was cold, especially for the girls, but your enthusiasm and laughter kept us all warm!

We ended our evening at the Caboto Centre where amongst family and friends Elizabeth and Peter were married.

Congratulations!

Melyssa and Scott

Saturday October 18, 2014

It was a crisp, cool morning as we arrived at the home of Melyssa and Scott.  Their brand new house had been transformed into a beauty salon.  Melyssa, her mom, and her close friends spent their morning getting their hair and make up done.  Sounds of music, laughter, and hairspray filled the air.
Melyssa's gown hung in the middle of her dining room and it caught by eye immediately.  It was simply……breathtaking.  From the tiny intricate details to the lace train, I loved it!

Melyssa's friends gathered around and watched as her mom helped her into her dress. Melyssa... you are stunning!  Melyssa is not only beautiful but what a trooper.  It was freezing outside but she never complained as we photographed her around her front yard.

I love this photo of Melyssa and her dad.  I am a mother myself, and I can only imagine how exciting it must be to see your daughter get married.  However, I can see the tears of joy in his eyes as he looks at her, his wonderful daughter that was once that little girl running around the house is now "all grown up!"  This is when I grab my own daughters and for a split second... I wish them little for as long as I can listening to their stories of fairy tales, flying horses, and magic.
A huge THANK YOU to Melyssa's dad for being by other "right-hand man".  You were everything that day from my reflector and ladder holder to Melyssa's blanket-go-getter.  Your help was greatly appreciated.
Melyssa and Scott were married at the Season's Funeral Chapel in Oakbank surrounded by family and friends.  From there, we travelled to what I call…….."A Photographer's Playground", it was a cabin that belonged to Melyssa's cousin and it was amazing.  While the wedding party and family gathered inside around the fire, we photographed the couple all around the best yard ever.  This yard had photographic props everywhere.  It was an outdoor studio and I could have stayed here all day!

Another funny fact is I had never met Scott until today.  Thank you Scott for being so fabulous to work with.  Your admiration and love for Melyssa is truly wonderful and I will never forget the look on your face when you saw her walk down the aisle.  I wish you both all of the very best as you start this new and exciting chapter of your lives together.
A special thank you to this wild and crazy wedding party.  You guys were dangerous, funny, and spontaneous.  I don't want to even imagine a party with this crowd!  The guys even climbed an old wind pump that stands in the yard.  I had a great time working with you all and thank you for battling the cold for beautiful smiles!

It was a cold but an absolutely AWESOME experience to work with you all from the family wrapped in blankets to the girls climbing trees…….just so much fun.

Our evening ended in Garson, Manitoba as the wedding party arrived for the reception.  The hall was decorated beautifully and the guests were excited to see the new married couple.

Congratulations!

Eleonora and Brian

Friday September 5, 2014

What an amazing day!  Anyone who believes that having rain on the day of a wedding is a sign of "Good Health, Good Luck, and Years of Happiness" would have loved to be a part of the wedding between Eleonora and Brian because we saw it all... from summer sun to roars of thunder.
We met at the Difino family home just before lunch and were welcomed by Eleonora's parents and Italian relatives.  As always, the Italian culture treats me like FAMILY.  They are warm, kind-hearted people who truly have embraced the meaning of tradition, family, and love.  Thank you to all of Eleonora and Brian's friends and family for their joy and humour in making their day so beautiful.
Eleonora and Brian chose to have their "first look" in the exquisite English Garden at Assiniboine Park.
I always love this moment.  Brian's smile is priceless as there were no words to describe Eleonora's radiance as she walked down the path towards him.  Eleonora wore a stunning gown and her hair was styled so elegant making her look flawless.  She is such a wonderful person from her compassion to her bubbling personality.  I always enjoy talking with her but today was even better as her laughter filled the park as we posed for photos.

Brian has such a quiet charm, almost mysterious which is why I thought it was so cute when Eleonora commented that she loved his tuxedo and it reminded her of James Bond.  Brian has an incredible style and he looked fabulous.
We spent over an hour walking through the park and photographing the couple.  The colours were vibrant and the scenery was like a painting, truly beautiful.  As their family started to arrive for photos so did the black rolling clouds.  Our bright and warm sun soon disappeared and within minutes we were hit with a down pour of rain.  Brian just smiled and took Eleonora by the hand and they hid inside as the rain came down.

The crazy rain didn't last long as we were still able to continue to photograph the families outside.
The rain was so funny as it went away, came back, went away……and came back again just as Eleonora started to walk down the aisle to officially marry Brian.  So……Brian and Eleonora were married in the  Leo Mol Garden in the pouring rain and as they sealed their vows with a kiss…..the sun came out.   It was spectacular at how even the weather wished them good health, love, and happiness.
The evening ended with a wonderful reception at the new Qualico Family Centre.  We were entertained with speeches, a wonderful slide show showing photos of Eleonora and Brian's travelling adventures, a delicious meal and who can forget the "Conga Line!"

Thank you Eleonora and Brian for asking me to be a part of your beautiful day…..rain or shine, it was amazing and I wish you many years of travelling, adventure and love.
Congratulations!
